Happy for the X players, and they actually didn't have a slow start out of the gate! Must have practiced the Xavier Way this week. Steele was publicly shamed, so reluctantly played Ben Stanley a full 90 seconds or so. Hopefully gets a lot of oxygen at halftime. He must be winded. Edwards played well so saw pine soon after hitting a nice jumper. Providence avg.s 6 treys a game, and already has seven. Free played his best half of the year; good for him! Odom playing well as usual. Scruggs had a typical Scruggs's half.

I want X to win this game and all the remaining games. I am NOT a betting person on sports. But if I were betting, which I am NOT, on tonight's game , it would be for Providence to win....and or cover the spread.
You just never know in the BE. I mean show of hands that thought UConn, who some here said isn't that good, would beat Nova last night. What was most surprising was the refs actually called Gillespie on not one but two push-off fouls, though he got away with about 4 more.

Look at you grooming us for a loss already.
As they say in the south, "Bless your heart" trying to spin a comment to soothe your mind.

Edwards, Big Ben and playing with some intensity
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

I sense some resolve and a bit of a mean-streak especially on D. A welcome sight. We shall see but have played our way into contention. If only the Friars remember they are not really a fantastic 3pt shooting team....

Overall strong half. Can support the product from the first half. Wild watching the lazy unforced turnovers that lead to a quick 6 points for Providence. Whenever X had a chance to really put some distance in the game a careless turnover bit them.

I’m with the junior mod AH, I hope they have oxygen for Stanley and Edwards. That fadeaway from Edwards was too smooth. Odom still needs more minutes but do appreciate Steele benching Scruggs a little more and only giving hunter one stretch.

Kunkel should play the rest of the way until they have an 8 point lead and a minute to go, then bring Scruggs in for him on D, and Knunkel back in on offense. Scruggs having another awful game, but Steele refuses to hold him accountable. Bring in Odom for Scruggs.

Scruggs should not be in the game. Been a huge liability, this is where Odom should finish.

Beautiful cut by Paul and a nice pass from Jack

Would have been early in the clock but they had Freemantle under the hoop WIDE open at the 7 second mark. Providence being 10-1 in 5 point games has to swing the other way, hopefully it is tonight.

What the hell was that? A fadeaway for the final shot? Everyone expected and Providence was hoping it was Scruggs with the ball, so I like Steele not putting it in his hands, but the ball should have been given to Odom to drive and finish or dish.
