I think the original line was -10. Do the bookies know something we don't ? I don't understand the system but I think the drop is for something like an injury rumor, or a lot of money in St. John's, etc etc

Likely the way the money has been flowing. St John’s always plays us tough.

Remember the line isn't set at what vegas thinks is gonna happen in the game, it's set so they get equal money on both sides.

This means big money has come in on St. John's. While this could be an injury rumor it's doubtful as we'd likely know about it here.

Likely what's happened is common betters are saying, "Xavier won by 6 when they already played this season and Xavier was home." So when the line was ten or even six big money went on St. John's. It's people betting big bc it's late conference season so they already get a game to base their bet on.
