I was thinking the same thing about Kanter, who was he kidding about entering the NBA draft? Hope he keeps playing hard , seems to have a decent touch, rebounding needs improvement.

much better 2nd half than the first. still too many turnovers. maybe one of JP's worst games i've ever seen. not just him but other guys just going out of control in transition and thinking they can just blow through guys and get a foul called and they just turn it over instead of maybe jumpstopping, kicking it out, etc. those are frustrating.

Tre was Tre. Kanter is soft with bad hands but actually looked more aggressive last night. he was brought here with the reputation of "man, he can really shoot it" but i have yet to see this aspect of his game AT ALL. that's worrisome to me.

Mack did say they would start implementing more zone so he could play 2 bigs at once. i'm guessing with the opponents we've had, the new guys need to learn how to play the pack-line better so we've played all man to this point. and, we've haven't needed the zone against anyone yet.

Vegas tourney should be fun, followed by Baylor,and then you know who.

Come on Sky, you know anyone can declare for the draft just like Tre did the last 2 years. It doesn't mean they are ready but to get advice. I am sure he is still trying to think in Xavier terms after years of his last teams verbiage. He could be a bust but history tells us that the X staff will get him to the point where he will contribute. I say give him time. He doesn't have to be a star in the ooc, he doesn't have to be a star in the league or post season. He just has to contribute when called upon.

I hope he able to contribute, but I know I am not the only one that was surprised based on his initial play. If he can contribute against a front line of Baylor I will be impressed. He doesn’t have to be a star but with his track record he is supposed to provide minutes as well as time as a 4.

Kanter was a one year guy and honestly what was the other option? He can give them some minutes, but there is a reason he was where he was. When your brother ends up at Kentucky, they also know about you in this day and age. The fact that he didn't land at a bigger program with his pedigree says something.

We see this every time with transfers, it takes time for them to get comfortable. I don't think Mack would have told the press at the Big East Media Day how excited fans will be with Kanters offensive game, if he can't play. I think Xavier is playing so well offensively that he is to hesitant on a new team to shoot. He seems to be trying to no disrupt the flow, when it seems to be keeping him from getting involved at all. Monday night he did finally show much more involvement on the offensive end, so let's see if we see even more in Vegas.
