“I don’t think they’re in danger of missing the tournament in any significant way.”

“I just think it’s a matter of impacting their seeding at this point ... If they were to lose two out of three and lose in the conference tournament early to a team below them, they’re probably going to be in the 8-9 game.”

So, who should we trust here, ESPN's noted Bracketologist (as well as literally every other outlet's equivalent personality that have XU safely in) or the guy who is out of touch to the point he gave up season tickets become some players and coaches want to make a livelihood based on their skills?
You better listen to common sense, not Lunardi who misses his predictions every year and then offers excuses. He is also not including the fact the committee will look at Sumner no longer playing, and that will also kill Xavier for an NCAA bid. He's the same guy who had San Diego State and Valpo both in last year as at-large teams and then started telling everyone the NCAA blew it. Xavier does not deserve an NCAA bid this year. I think they are a good NIT fit, but if they lose out, they might be looking at the CBI.

Most Xavier fans have forgotten the Kenyon Martin factor in 2000 for UC. The committee looks at injuries as reason to drop teams in seeding or exclusion from the tournament altogether. They also look at late-season slides as reasons to NOT invite teams. Xavier is a late-season collapse right now. If they lose to Butler and Marquette, they are NIT bound. If they also lose to DePaul, given the NIT criteria, Xavier will likely miss the NIT and have to settle for the CBI. Anyone who disputes any of this is just not living in reality.

Post to your heart's content
Yet you are the one who picked Xavier to beat Butler on Sunday? That is not "emotive hyperbole" and is instead based on common sense? Get over it.

You are so comically off base between this and your take on Paul Scruggs that I can only hope you are a troll.

Lunardi's number of teams correct over the 4 year stretch from 2011-2015 respectively: 66, 67, 68, 67. Not bad out of 68 teams I'd say.

That says nothing of the hundreds of other bracketologists (both those more and less accurate historically than Lunardi) on Bracket Matrix, LITERALLY NONE OF WHOM have XU missing the tournament. In fact, as of today's update, X is in position as a 7 seed per the Matrix.

Since you are so grounded in reality and what Xavier deserves, how about this: if XU makes the NCAA Tournament, you stop posting on here forever. You might not think Xavier deserves the tournament this year (ignoring what all the numbers and experts predict), but we on Musketeer Madness deserve to be free of your miserable hot takes. Thanks.

You are obviously the troll. Lunardi missed San Diego State and Valpo last year! I also notice you do not say anything about Sumner's injury and how it will affect the COMMITTEE DECISION! Xavier is NOT the same team they were in December. They are going to address that on Selection Sunday. But if Xavier has lost 8 in a row going into that Sunday, there will be no decision at all. They will be in the NIT! If they are in the NIT, will you show up? Or are you just a troll?

My thoughts on Scruggs seem right on, he's a one-and-done who has no interest in school. No one here disputed the article in the Indiana newspaper. Keep on trolling.

I didn't say anything about Sumner's injury because obviously the hundreds of bracketology experts have already taken that into consideration. If you can't understand that you are dumber than I thought.

Ok, so Lunardi missed two last year. So from 2016 back to 2012 he hit on 66,67,68,67,66 respectively. That's pretty good. You on the other hand think Xavier has a chance of playing in the CBI this year. I'm going to stick with Joe.

Again, I plead -- go ahead and go the extra mile and stop posting on this board, just like you gave up your season tickets. It would be a great development for all of us.

Why don't you go back to Dayton or wherever you came from. You obviously have no common sense, a brainless troll who believes Lunardi is flawless when in fact his in-season teams NEVER are correct. Only his FINAL field is close. But you keep on trolling. I'm going nowhere. See you at the NIT or CBI.

If Scruggs well enough to go to the NBA after one year, I hope he (or anyone in that situation) takes advantage of the opportunity. If Xavier starts to recruit guys who don't want to go to the NBA as soon as possible, the program will drop off quickly. Scruggs is no more or less interested in school than any high major basketball player. They all recognize school is a means to an end if they want to succeed in high level D1 ball with hopes of making money playing professionally.

The column, NOT article, in the Indy Star was more or less a hit piece written from the perspective of Indiana HS ball losing local talent to prep schools and out of state colleges.

Yikes, can you even read? I never said Lunardi was flawless -- to the contrary, I actually pointed out several years where he has missed a few teams.

I notice you still haven't addressed that out of the hundreds of bracketology experts on the Bracket Matrix, ZERO have Xavier missing the field.

Do you really think Joe Lunardi's predictions less than 3 weeks before Selection Sunday are never correct?

You are a terrible poster and so out of touch with college basketball reality it's hard to believe you have ever watched a game.
