Everyone needs to step back a bit. We are no where near the bubble.
Even if you assume a loss at Seton Hall this week, when Trevon is back for the Butler game on Sunday, expect to see a different team. 3 wins against Butler, Marquette, and DePaul and the team will be looking at a 6 or 7 seed.

You are not living in reality if you believe we are not near the bubble. We are past it after the committee looks at the injury to Sumner and the late-season losses. I concede the loss to Seton Hall. But I also see losses to Butler and Marquette, Blueitt or not. Both have better personnel than we do at this stage of the season without Sumner. We should beat DePaul, but the other two are losses in all likelihood.kmcrawfo wrote:Everyone needs to step back a bit. We are no where near the bubble.

If one of our 2 or more wins is over the Q, we will finish no worse than a tie for fourth place. That will get us invited.

Re: NCAA Tournament Seed
As of today we probably have a good enough resume to get in.All of these projections are assuming we will win a few more games .The way things are going,I'm not sure you can assume anything.Let's hope Tre is back Wednesday and is right back to where he was before Villanova. The losses without him won't kill us but if he comes back and we don't win, we got problems.XU Captain wrote:You are not living in reality if you believe we are not near the bubble. Re: NCAA Tournament Seed
As disappointing as the last 3 games have been, I think a healthy Trevon(despite his lack of defense) will energize the team and get us into the tourney. 7-10 seed most likely. The second round matchup with a seed like that is obviously difficult, but we have always done our best work in the tourney as an underdog. That being said, if he's not back healthy and shooting well, NIT here we come.

Re: NCAA Tournament Seed
At this point....X is not on the bubble. Seed is trending down and I guess it could get the point where they may not be in if they lose every damn game. I don't see that happening though. Most projections have Xavier as a 7 seed at the moment. They have Syracuse and Georgia Tech in for god sake and they are already at 12 losses on the season. The bubble is very very weak. If you look at the real bubble teams. The Xavier resume even with losing 3 straight games is in good position. Sometimes timing of schedules have to be factored in. I have seen most teams including the top 5 teams get taken to the wood shed at one point in time this year. It happens on the road.XU Captain wrote:You are not living in reality if you believe we are not near the bubble. The way Marquette played in that game Saturday.....I doubt many teams would of won that night. If we have Trevon we have better chances to win...period. If he is not back and not playing well. They are going to struggle against teams.

Re: NCAA Tournament Seed
Feb 23rd...Xavier is an 8 seed playing a 9 seed and if they win would play a 1 seed. This will all change, but an 8 seed playing a 9 seed is usually a toss up game as to who wins and if they win losing to the 1 seed. Not a great seed to be.
