He's been lazy and has totally underacheived throughout his career based on what he was projected to be as a freshman. One great game in the tournament doesn't erase that.Mr. Neutral wrote:But, to be fair, KF seems like a good guy, and I'd like him to finish his career on a good note, so here's hoping he continues to play well on Friday (and afterwards!).
TH has already gotten his share of plaudits, but he's also gotten his share of criticism for his role, however limited, in The Brawl. Very happy that he got back to the Sweet 16.

92 I agree that one great game in a tournament shouldn't change people's perceptions. However, that s your opinion that he has just had this one great game in the tourney. I would ask you that when X was staring at an NIT birth, Frease has been great the last 12 games-averaging over 14 points and several rebounds. To your point however, I hope that this same logic within your opinion is applied to everyone. This was just one great game by Frease that you point out-others have also had inconsistencies all year from players to coaches.

X-Expert, I disagree that he had a great end to the regular season. 14 ppg and 7 or 8 rpg is good, not GREAT, especially for a senior who has underachieved the majority of the time throughout his career.

Re: Kenny Frease Saves the Day
It would be a wonderful thing if Kenny Frease's performance in the Lehigh game miraculously awakened some heretofore untapped talents & he continued to show such fantastic improvement that he has a long, successful NBA career. More skeptical observers might suspect that Patriot League team Lehigh did not have players with the talent of even the A 10 much less the premier college teams to shackle KF which sadly has mostly been the case during his 4 years at X.
Some great transformation seemed to have happened to Kenny because he appeared to be very confident, handled the ball very well, moved, dribbled & shot the ball with grace & assurance.
A curious fact is that in 34 min of action he was NOT called for ANY fouls. Did he suddenly become like a sacred cow? In many previous games he was unfairly whistled for phantom contact. Since he had "fouls to give" could he have played more aggressive defense in the 1st half when Lehigh streaked to a 15 point lead? Let's hope his great performance continues for the rest of the tournament.

I don't expect KF to have a night close to last night's 25 and 12 against Baylor. I'd be happy with 15 and 8.

Kenny had a great night last night - no doubt about it. Without him , it is doubtful that X would have won the game.
That said, the match-ups were in his favor. Lehigh's biggest big was Knutson at 6-9. Kenny had a definite size advantage against Lehigh and he used it.
If he goes 15 and 8 against Baylor, that would be great because their bigs are bigger and more athletic than Lehigh.
Perry Jones - 6-11 & 13 PPG
Anthony Jones - 6-10 & 5 PPG
Qunicy Miller - 6-9 & 11 PPG

Damn, those numbers hurt...and will only hurt a lot more if Wells can't play. Saw him limping around in a boot today.mumuskie87 wrote: Perry Jones - 6-11 & 13 PPG
