What a great come from behind victory! X fans in full voice, and no one gave up on them or had a coronary. I was as proud of the fans as the team. Many times everyone will go passive or worse, start cursing and bellyaching. None of that today.
This team doesn't quit, and the fans are catching on.
It is yet another great day to be a Muskie!
ONE DOWNSIDE: No beer in the arena! What is up with that?
Also of note: Joe Ventura and the alumni office crew had free towels, cool Xavier NCAA 2008 hats, breakfast and beads for us all, FREE, at Gordon Bierch. Of course we had a few beers. Mmmm.
Onward and upwards for Saturday. I want to be calling for Duke about 7 Saturday night!

the big red machine looked like that during their hay day. They would get down early and come back in the 7-8-9 inning for the win.

just curious, how many x fans made the trip?
I heard tickets were very tough to get for the first round and u needed to buy a ticket for the whole day...$$$...and that X had an insane amount of ticket requests, gotta figure many more muskie faithfull will be on their way to the capital for some X faithfull reinforcement

Re: tickets: upper bowl pretty full during our game, with Purdue and Baylor fans filling in later for a pretty sold out session. I can tell you that there were plenty of seats for sale from scalpers, and Xavier fans were getting seats in our section at the brunch before the game. The second level seats were right above the first, not nosebleed, but the section was not fully packed out.
Getting seats Saturday is going to be harder if you do not have an in already with Xavier, since West Virginia fans are sure to be traveling the shortest distance for a good chance to knock off Duke. Likely to be a few folks from Indiana to see the Boilers as well.
In this morning's Washington Post: "Devil in a White Shirt, or Got his Mojo workin". Now who could this article be about. Even Stanley's teammates think he's pretty wierd at times. The second article is "Georgia cries foul." If the call the Purdue Going to have to win on defense and better shooting, because Purdue can, believe me, put the ball in the basket, and they are deep.
Off to pick up tickets!!

I'll always remember travelling with the muskies for the MCC and NCAA tourneys as a kid,
My favorite memory was in Indy, everyone knows what happened, kstate first i beleieve and then Gtown, everyone in the house...Purdue vs Texas next game...was cheering for X,
What a day, X fans walked out of the arena on cloud nine chanting....who dey who dey who dey think gonna beat them muskies.
Wish work would allow me to be in DC this weekend, being a kid was much more fun...so many great memories in March with our beloved Muskies
