Richmond vs St Joes

Postby muskieman » Thu Mar 13, 2008 2:49 pm

Richmond up early 5-2
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

up by 8 at half and it took a 3 at the end.

If richmond could hit an open shot the game would be a lot different.

Yep, a rematch with the Hawks. One thing Coach Whitford said in the postgame may explain why we often struggle against SJU. When discussing how Johnson scored 26 when all the defensive efforts are usually directed at Roberts, Whitford said that X really only has one good perimeter defender (Burrell) and so when teams have more than one good perimeter scorer, X is at a disadvantage.

With SJU having multiple guys who can score from the perimeter, including their forwards, they present a tough matchup for X.

Next two games could be the toughest of the season. St Joes and UMess or Temple. I want the guys to want both games or they might end up as a 4 seed.

Agreed. Of course, if somebody would have told me at the beginning of the year that we would be a #4 seed in the tourney, I would have chuckled and asked if they meant the NIT. This team - and Miller - have really outproduced my expectations for this season.

So, even if they wind up with a 4, I don't think I can complain.
