And about Villanova melting down:

Bill (Carmel by-the-Sea, CA): Doug, Not sure if yougot this from my earlier post. The ESPN article today points out the imploding Villanova, but it does not speculate on what?s wrong. Further, aside from the losing streak and some strange substitution patterns, there are some trends that appear to indicate larger problems. - 2 transfers (Benn and Ott) within 9 months. - No potential recruits through 2010 over 6-8. - Horrible offense to defense numbers. - Predictable ?isolations-based? offensive sets - A cupcake (Syracuse like) pre-Big east schedule (this year anyway). - Double digit losses to the Big East bottom feeders. Call me nuts, but I'm still a Jay Wright fan - although he's got to right this ship fast. As he freely admits, the "we're young" thing doesn't work very long when most everyone else in college hoops is dealing with the same thing (See Billy Donovan). So, what?s wrong here that the average fan can?t see? Where does Coach Wright go from here? What happens next year if they win the Evans lottery ? or if they don?t?

Doug: (4:29 PM ET ) I like Jay Wright the man more than Jay Wright the coach...he really loves letting his kids be creative and at times, they play too loose with the ball. The transfers do not bother me, happens everywhere...I think they will recover in time to make a run at the dance...but they have a lot of youth, still no inside game and they may come up a little short. The problem is that Jay was able to get away with playing this way with better players who played better defense than this bunch. I think he will retool his own coaching style and put more emphasis on getting stops and get back to some of the things that I loved played against him at Hofstra...
then I will be back in tune with him as a coach.
