Folks,

introducing the next great player at X in the class of 2027: Brandon Mason Jr. out of New Mexico. He’s a 6'6" SG/wing and ranks around 70th in the composite recruiting rankings.

I’ve had to hold this in for a few days, but I knew he was coming to X after us moderators took him to a fancy dinner at Carrabba’s a few nights ago.
Smart, talented, and humble- - -shades of Colby Jones.

Fun fact: Clifton Community offered him months ago, but he quickly crossed them off his list when he realized they were, well... Clifton Community.

Welcome, Brandon!

I knew we had him when Anti order a round Grape Nehi and Cacio e Pepe for the whole table
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

@KayserHoops

Xavier and Richard Pitino are hosting two four-star prospects these next few days.

Four-star Markus Kerr is set to visit Xavier until Friday while four-star Jaydn Jenkins will be on campus this weekend.

Two significant targets for the Musketeers.

Markus Kerr Commits to Xavier

Four‑star small forward Markus Kerr has officially committed to Xavier University under head coach Richard Pitino, marking the Musketeers’ second pledge in the Class of 2027

Recruiting Profile
Height/Position: 6‑foot‑6 wing

Rankings:

No. 62 overall in the 2027 class (Rivals Industry Ranking)

No. 16 small forward (Rivals)

No. 76 overall (247Sports)

No. 19 small forward (247Sports)

Finalists: Baylor, Maryland, NC State, Tennessee

High School & Summer Performance
Brewster Academy (NH): 13.1 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 1.2 apg, 1.8 spg; 48% FG

Nike EYBL Team United: 15.3 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 2.3 apg; 47% FG

Adidas 3SSB Championships (Garner Road): 10.1 ppg off the bench, 3.0 apg (2nd on team)

Game Style

Rivals analyst Jamie Shaw described Kerr as a two‑way, athletic wing with an explosive burst, strong ball skills, and the ability to adapt to different roles — from a four‑man role to hybrid or on‑ball play — while consistently producing winning plays

Xavier Connection
Kerr visited Xavier earlier in the week, with Pitino’s staff recruiting him the hardest of any school

Summary: Xavier has added a high‑profile, versatile wing to its roster, giving the Musketeers depth and scoring options in the 2027 class. Kerr’s adaptability and two‑way play make him a valuable fit for Pitino’s system.

My quota this year for recruitment is to reach 100,000 premium members. We're at 96,284. I know the price was raised unexpectedley this year from $149 to $279 a year, but Mman has been taking a beating wagering on jai alai on his weekend jaunts to Miami.

Now, a plug for premium membership: I posted his verbal commitment on our premium site eight days ago, after the senior moderators sent me down to see him at Brewster to do some schmoozing. One of our premium members took that inside info and made $47,000 on Kalshi, as the odds of him going to X were around +1100.
