Heard they hired a coach earlier... Figured it was Mack... Surprised as heck they went outside their comfort zone... Welcome Coach Pitino Jr. Now get to work!!!... Dan

Welcome Tricky Dick!
Way to welcome Richard. (dripping)
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

I only hope that our new coach acquires a white suit before we play St. John's at home next season. Him walking out in it past is father would be priceless.

Glad to hear from you, PP. Long time without your words of wisdom. Richard is more a quarter-zipped guy, and I am sure he doesn't want to listen to a mini me Pitino chants and photo when he goes to MSG to play St John's

Ryan Cassidy had some good stats on Pitino

New Mexico in 4 years prior to Richard Pitino
- 58-63 record
- 0 NCAA Tournaments

New Mexico in 4 years with Richard Pitino
- 88-49 record
- 2 NCAA Tournaments

Also Retire Fifty Tu comments
Interesting hearing multiple national media wonder out loud if they would rather coach Xavier then Texas.

Rob Dauster said in 3 years he would rather be the coach at X than UT

Matt Norlander said he disagrees that UT is a better place to compete for final fours on the regular

I'm ok with this .Hopefully he's hugely successful and has other schools pursuing him.I would have been ok with Mack too but someone from outside the inner circle might be good.Last time we did this was Matta.

I also am fine with this. More than fine. I think it is a great choice. Like others, i give him 3-5 years before he moves on. They say an AD should always have the next hire in his back pocket. Looks like GC did just that.
