I suspect this is no longer true. Guessing X is now a 6 seed and another bad loss takes them to 8 or 9. If Free comes back, X may get a seed bump but not guaranteed.

This team cannot close out games. Decision making is a huge problem.

Before the Zack disaster, X had figured out a way to close tight games but when you lose someone like this year's Zack it is hard to play games and succeed in the tight ones.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Losing Free had nothing to do with Boum turning it over twice in 40 seconds allowing the other team to take the lead and get the win. Not sure he would have made a difference in the other close games we failed to win either, unless you argue X would have had a comfortable lead with him on the court. Generally, a post player with limited defensive prowess is not a significant factor in a 1 possession game in the closing minute.

If Xavier was simply struggling to make a shot, then Free might be the answer but the problem at the end of games has generally been carelessness with the ball and decision making.

I can't wait for Free to return as we desperately need depth. He has been a very efficient scorer all season. He is also a good rebounder and he and Jack pass well to each other. His presence can hopefully help avoid the close games down the stretch.

A huge CONGRATS to Coach Huggs for a hard fought road kill last eve vs a sputtering Iowa St. Helps X tremendously of course so I was glued to the tube rooting Huggy-Bear and his troops on.

I've been rooting for WV whenever I've notice them playing. Every win is a good win for X. Indiana getting Purdue twice is also huge.

X should have beat Indiana - Nunge had a bad game. X should have beat Gonzaga and almost certainly would have if Kunkel wasn't hurt. So many close losses without Freemantle. This year was extremely close to a top seed even with the injuries.
