I think a guy that can create his shot, also, a guy that can run the team and distribute while being a scoring threat from the 3. Additionally, a 4 that can shoot at a high level and rebound to complement Jack, and a go-to guy that can win in any match-up. Some may come from the existing players(looking at Jones) and some may come from transfers and incoming
I hear that we may see a name former head coach type of guy as the assistant head coach.
I think rell's chance of recommitting to X is at 40%. I hope I am wrong but Jordon Brooks looks like he isn't coming back and he was the guy that recruited Tyrell.

I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Right now #1 priority would be a proven, talented Power 5 capable PG. Ideally one that can shoot it at least respectfully from the arc, that has a mature strong body, and can run a team. Otherwise all we have there is a talented, but raw, incoming Frosh. As for the rest, who the heck knows, I will get back with you next week after a few more of our guys make up their minds.

Some body that can shoot 80% or better from the free throw line never hurts.

Good post X-lucidity. I agree that PG is the biggest on court need.X-lucidity wrote: ↑Wed Apr 06, 2022 3:33 pmRight now #1 priority would be a proven, talented Power 5 capable PG. Overall biggest thing we need is for Sean to man up and address the situation at Arizona. Specifically the five Level 1 violations and his prior false claims regarding his lack of knowledge about what was happening in the program.
This continues to hurt the reputation of both Sean and our program. Have a press conference, take questions, tell the truth. Quit being evasive.

Re: What would you look at Xavier needs
Just end every one of you posts with ‘and what I’ve been saying about Sean’. That way you don’t have to rekey it or cut and paste it from a previous post. Saves everyone from reading it over and over again. We all know Sean knew some of it. Probably didn’t know Book was keeping money meant for players, but he knew money and recruits/families were involved in rule breaking activities. How much do you think it hurts programs? Was it UNC where players had others taking their tests for them? How’d that program suffer? Every team breaks rules cause it’s all about winning. Nobody cares. Some get caught some don’t. But every school does it.

I appreciate your response and post. Thank you for being one of the few with a legitimate viewpoint on our new coach.oldhoopster wrote: ↑Wed Apr 06, 2022 6:02 pmJust end every one of you posts with ‘and what I’ve been saying about Sean’. Now I'm not the most informed college basketball fan and I don't read a lot of national BB blogs but from what I've seen you're the only one talking about Coach Miller... Let's say Miller is suspended for 10 games, how does that truly effect next season???... He'll miss a lot of nobodies and a couple of mid majors... Let your neighbors talk... It comes with the territory... Dan

Re: What would you look at Xavier needs
Initially I was going to say that the biggest need for X was a PG capable of running the team. The Frosh might be that guy or possibly Jones as a Point Forward.
Then I read the posts and it is clear that the biggest need is for XavierMuskie2003 to relax. Did Sean do something inappropriate at AZ, possible. Was he aware rules were being broken, possible with a higher degree of probability than him personally breaking rules.
That being said, I work for a small consulting firm and I can confidently say the partner over my division has no idea what I'm doing with clients beyond what I share and the client shares. If I were rigging things to benefit the client, I suspect they would not share that with the partner. In the case of the AZ situation, why would those contributing capital or the staff member accepting it share this information with the coach?
As for Sean getting fired, it does not mean he broke rules or was aware rules were being broken. A major violation happened while he was coach and the school needed to appear as if it was against such behavior. Firing the coach sends that message and minimizes the possible penalties assessed to the university. They may or may not have had any basis for firing Miller.
I have not looked into any of the details of this situation. I know the FBI investigation did not convict Sean of anything. I also know some here have said that there was misinformation in a documentary, which now clears Sean of 1 of the more damaging aspects of this situation.
If Sean condoned the misconduct than I wish he would be held accountable. At this point, he has not been found guilty of anything. We could assume that this is another conspiracy. Maybe Sean controls the courts, FBI, Other? Maybe he is a devil worshiping child molester? These are all possibilities but they do have a very, very small probability of accuracy.
I'm good with second chances but do believe a person needs to admit their mistakes before deserving a second chance. In this case however, I would need to see compelling evidence before I assume Sean is actually guilty of anything.
As for the post about all schools break the rules, that is BS. I completely agree that not all rule breakers get caught but I do not agree that everyone is breaking the rules. Believing that everyone breaks the rules is generally a justification for a person to break the rules themselves. A person does not need to break rules to succeed. Some certainly do get an advantage from breaking rules and never get caught but not all successful people, organizations or businesses break rules.
