Win with humility. Lose with class & dignity.
Some days even the best are off their game. It is like you are all thumbs.
Sometimes you run up against opponents that are simply more talent. Better athletes.
It happens to everyone. There is no shame in losing to a better team.
Just have the class & dignity to accept the facts.just lift yourself up & give your best effort tomorrow.
It also applies to us all. Even us fans.
Booing the team of your alma mater is the characteristic of a unworthy & ingrate fan.
Win with humility ….

When exactly does the “winning” you speak of start?Sonoma Muskie wrote: ↑Wed Mar 02, 2022 6:37 pmWin with humility. Lose with class & dignity.

. This program is being destroyed by a bad coach. Its sad to watch this. The question is will the administration have the guts to fire him.

Re: Win with humility ….
Maybe the fans are booing the coach who is paid millions despite his inability to coach. The players do not deserve to be subjected to the negativity. They are working hard to be the best they can be. They are unfortunately crippled by an incompetent coach. Some careers have been stunted. Many victories have been stolen from them.
Scruggs has the talent to be great but his decision making is bad.
Jones has regressed as the season has gone on. Not his execution but his decision making. He and Odom both played at a high IQ since day 1 and it has regressed.
Hunter has so much ability to create wins but doesn't play to his strengths and has many fans believing he is terrible.
Nunge is capable of being the focal point of the offense yet has to work for every point.
Zach needs to learn defensive positioning and earn a place in the lineup. His offense is good against opponents without length and athleticism but rarely performs against bigger athletic players. He has the desire but needs educated.
Odom is a true PG yet got minimal minutes most of the year. He can't shoot but plenty of great PGs have had that limitation. His is certainly more extreme than most but he knows the game and knows his limitation. He rarely makes mistakes. Highest basketball IQ on the team. Jones was comparable at 1 point but regressed to make this an easy call. Nunge also has a high basketball IQ and has an argument to be in the mix but his shot selection from deep is enough to put Odom #1.
Miles has weaknesses but he played solid and vanished once Zach came back. If Zach played defense and was consistent on offense I'd look past this but neither are true.
Kunkel & Johnson have both had amazing games. Johnson generally plays well but he started forcing the action about when he started to struggle shooting. He continued to force shots throughout his drought. He is a great shooter. He probably didn't shoot enough earlier in the season but when struggling, a player should be even more picky about when to shoot.
The team had good effort for most, possibly all, of the season but played at a low basketball IQ. The team didn't play to strengths whether at the individual level or lineup changes to maximize mismatches. Many coaches go with the best lineup regardless of matchups. That makes sense when you have an obvious starting lineup with a huge talent drop off. But even then, good coaches pay attention to what happens on the court and makes changes to stop a mismatch or create 1. Travis failed at this adjustment. No lineup changes to start the game other than due to injury nor recognition during the game to make changes.
Fans should not boo. They should take their complaints to the School and demand a coaching change. Travis is not ready and is likely not capable of being a good coach at this level.

Scruggs is average at best and currently a liability. Kunkle and Johnson have not shot well in BE play and Jones isn’t really a guard. Just average talent and a bad coach

Re: Win with humility ….
I don't disagree with you Skyhops. I simply see the potential of what could be with real leadership. Scruggs makes me nervous when he has the ball because I can't trust his decision making but that is coaching. If the coach feels the same, Scruggs should have been benched long ago.
Johnson would be fine if he didn't force shots, especially during a stretch when he is struggling. Kunkel is hard to evaluate as his game is all over the place. No consistency and I actually give Travis a pass on Kunkel. Hard to know if Kunkel will get hot or go 1 for 7. I would mostly coach around that by playing other players when he starts cold but giving him more opportunity when desperate.
Jones position doesn't concern me all that much. Him playing at a high IQ was a huge benefit to the team. Rebounding, being another dependable person with the ball and looking for the open man is a coaches dream. I don't know how Travis destroyed that but it is the worst part of this season. He took a smart player and lowered his IQ.
