the great takeaway from this game is that on this team, on any given night, somebody can AND HAS stepped up. that's what makes this team so great. it's hard to scout/gameplan vs a team where you have NO IDEA who/what you want to try to takeaway/exploit. dudes guarding Odom are backed off like 7 ft and STILL can't stop him. feel like we've had like 7 different "KenPom MVP's" this year and that says a lot.
we fixed some things against Marquette, specifically turnovers. only 8 against the team that puts full court pressure on the whole game? that's solid. probably should have attacked it more once we broke it but we did that as the game went on and that's what helped build our 2nd half lead. yes, they got back into the game but if you don't think almost every BE game is going to come down to the last 4 minute war then you're in for a rude awakening. this is what we should "expect" every game, especially in our league.
not worried about the FT's. it happens sometimes. the fact that shot 35 is the real stat. we are aggressive on the boards and that's where most of these fouls are happening. our defense may not be ELITE but we do a great job of playing it without fouling and putting the other team at the line.
at this point, i don't care HOW we win. just WIN.
on to NOVA where i predict they will shoot 93.4% from 3 against us.
