Re: JOHN THOMPSON
Guess I'm really a Geezer--I saw him play in high school at John Carroll. Awesome team--won 55 straight games. Had Monk Malloy, who played at ND and went on to be President of ND, Tom Hoover, another 6'10 guy who played for Nova and 1st round pick for NBA, George Leftwich, who played at Nova, and John Austin who played for BC and had a weekend in the NBA. Many say the best DC team ever, (includes many DeMatha powerhouses). They played a team from Racine Wisconsin, St Catherines, as I recall, for a local DC tournament. championship and it was a great game and they almost lost it--but that made their 55th win I believe.
John was something at GT--I lived in DC in those days, boy did he fire things up!
Rest In Peace big fellow!

Re: JOHN THOMPSON
I taught Freshman English at Carroll in fall of 57. Can't recall any basketball players. Just troublemakers.
