On to Prov! Our boys manage to pluck a 'Dub from the trash bin yesterday. No need to even dwell on that masterpiece, Naji shot a "no-no-no- - - YES!" step back, stone cold 3 for the dagger. Hell, I ain't even going to question how or why we won. I will say I wish Steele could find a way to insert Moore a few minutes each game. Last few minutes yesterday we had plenty of time outs and would have loved to see Moore and Tandy combined for a little "offense / defense" rotation. But I digress.
Can we beat Prov? We are actually one of the few BE teams that matches up well with their preferred style. Can Paul stay out of foul trouble...? Need Freemantle to compete on the blocks. Need to keep T/O's under 16, (seemingly takes a miracle these days to even conceive of that...) Carter still struggling to compete with BE athletes but is contributing. His outside shot has been more consistent and we will need him to have the stones to take 3 or 4 of those when open Wednesday.
Both teams need this one bad. My thoughts, first 8 minutes will be crucial. We take their first punch without going to the canvas, and we can get a heroic road kill....
Naji had two-three at the end. At the 2:30 mark, Naji made a big three after GT had cut the lead to 3 and then the three that gave X the lead back for good. Naji made the last 8 points of the game for X.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

agree, Naji and T-Jones scored about 90% of our second half points. I applaud Naji's guts and moxie, he is our clutch end of game go-to. Love his courage. His 3 with about 2:30 left that you mentioned was much more open and in rhythm. You have to admit MM that last shot was of lower quality than most coaches would have like to draw up on the old chalk board with ample time and only needing any sort of basket, be it a two or three.
That said, I was not complaining, just glad he's on our side....

I took Pre-Calculus with Father Ike...Easy Ike and my math is flawed at best but I believe Xavier's last 23 points were scored by Naji and Tyrique.

his last shot might have not been the best shot but no one was willing to take the tough shot in the last 5-6 minutes and you know they thought it was going into Jones. I agree it was a NOOOOOOOOYes shot and glad he had the gut to take it.
