Been a fan since the 50’s going to Smokey Schmidt Fieldhouse & The gardens but don’t get to Cintas too often(400 miles away)followed Pete, Skip- attended his only tournament game winner over Vandy. Also enjoyed the winning years with the (3) Gold Diggers- Thad, Sean & Chris. Attended several tournament games last one in Nashville.Obviously disappointed with the present and the trend to madness snubs & the NIT. Hope and pray we aren’t trending in the direction of Depaul, St Johns, Bengals, & Reds to name a few. Something is wrong when we have to play 3 on 5 and depend on Freshman & Grad Transfers to field a starting 5. I see we have players on scholarship that don’t even take their warm ups off. How do the Zags, Creighton, Butler do better almost every year. Not sure we can but if we go 2&2 in the last 4 games we will have to sweat to hear our name called on Selection Sunday. I hope I am not too pessimistic and I feel bad for the players not too much for the coaches as they are paid for their efforts or lack of. My point is I think we can and should do better with a great Jesuit school, state of the art Athletic facilities, tradition Etc.
