Cronin waited in standby mode until the dozens who were vetted, turned down the offers, and turned down the opportunity to even interview fell by the wayside? Why would he leave an "elite" basketball program for one which is clearly a dumpster fire, where even doubling at least one guy's salary didn't compel him to even give it a sniff? I don't blame Cronin for leaving, as he had the highest salary relative to the fewest number of tourney wins in the nation, and the posse was organizing after yet another 1st round exit.
