Coaching Buyouts at X Going Forward

Postby jerry92 » Fri Feb 15, 2019 7:04 pm

Is there a way that X can structure the buyout for a coach that decides to leave X to include a clause that takes into consideration our record going forward? As example, if our record for the following two years after the coach departure is under .500, the buyout increases by 2 million - this would encourage the departing coach to have some regard for the program as he exits.

Seems like it would probably be legal but no coach would ever agree.

I am thinking that Louisville had to pay Xavier a high sum for buying Mack's contract. Maybe someone in the know could help there. Go Xavier!

It would
Ikely be an invalid contract because no sane coach would sign such a contract.
