Texas Southern coach 6 yrs at Indiana/5 players double digit scorers

Postby Xavier2005 » Wed Mar 14, 2018 8:29 pm

The coach for Texas Southern spent 6 years as Indiana's Head coach. The team averages 77 points per game. The team only plays 8-9 players per game. 5 players average scoring is double digits from 10 to 25 points per game. They score!!!!!

One reason they have 5 averaging in double figures is bc their leading scorer Jefferson has been suspended 4 times this year, so obviously some of the other guys got to inflate their scoring for several games.

They look like a solid team. Jefferson is a small quick guard which gives us fits. He can shoot but takes too many stupid shots. He is 5'7 so if we're smart we just smother him with scruggs for most of the game. And always bring help when he drives.

They do have a 7'2 center. He has 6 blocks so far against central. He's a good rebounder but is sloooow. He's shown no ability to create offense.

If this team shoots well they could really stick with Xavier. I think if you just game plan correctly against them though this should be a 20 point win.

that 7'2" guy is a good shot blocker but a bump will put him in the 3rd row. Seam and KK could put him in foul trouble quickly and then their next guy is 6'8" Jefferson is impressive but can be stopped. I think we can run them into the ground as long as we make our shots.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Can they cough up a 17 point 2nd half lead better than we can? At what point during the season did ASU's 3's stop falling?

Agree and Kanter's moves will have him spinning in circles.

G - Epic fail by ASU down the stretch.
They lost 6 of 7 to end their season after starting the season 12-0.
And their only win in that 7 game stretch was against Cal who along with Pitt was the worst team in the Power 6 conferences - Pac 12, BE, ACC, SEC, B10 and B12,
It's now how you but how you finish.
Don't think Bobby Hurley is going to be on many short lists for coaching vacancies this off season.

Texas Southern has won 8 straight games, 6 of which they have scored 90 or more points.
Mike Davis has gone to the F4 as a coach, in fact coached in the NC game against Maryland in 2002.

Their 7-2 center - Reed - has a 2 FG % of 72% which is ranked 5th in the country.
And in his last 4 games he has gone 16-16 from the field.
Plus they have a 5-7 guard. Small guards have been X's kryptonite this year.

On the flip, they got hammered last year by UNC in the 1st round by 40 points.
