I'm happy X has been a big benefactor of graduate transfers. However, I hate the impact it has on programs like Wisc G.B., and other mid-majors. If X wasn't fortunate enough to be selected into a Big Five League, we could be facing the agony of losing grad transfers as well.

Out of idle curiosity, AH, can you name any Graduate transfers out of the A10? I ask because I don't follow that stat.

I can't. because I don't follow them either. I just know, as the article suggests, that mid-majors like the A-10 are obviously more vulnerable to losing high impact players, even though they typically are the stars of the team or one of the best players. Obviously, they wouldn't be offered by high majors otherwise. Conversely, even though high major teams lose recruits, it is almost always due to lack of playing time, meaning the impact is relatively minimal.

Butler last season had that Savage kid who was a grad transfer or just a transfer from GW. I'm not sure whether he was one or the other. Either way it sucks to lose a kid to a power school but at the same time I can see a kid, like Kanter, wanting to improve his chances for the next level.
