Big Week for the Big East

With OOC play about halfway over, the league has a chance this week to position itself for a lot of bids in March after beating up on each other in conference play

Games with immediate and long-term implications:
We play #11 Cincinnati and #16 Baylor at home.
Seton Hall plays @ #22 Texas Tech and @ #17 Louisville.
Creighton plays @ #15 Gonzaga

Games with potential implications:
Marquette plays vs. Georgia, who is now getting votes from the AP.
Providence plays @ Rhode Island, who is now getting votes from the AP.

Important wins:
Villanova has two Philly Big 5 games, which will do nothing for their resume, but will draw media attention.
Butler plays vs SLU, which should at the very least be a learning win.

Potential to pull us down:
Depaul, St. Johns and Georgetown are playing cupcakes, and Depaul may even go 1-1.


We currently have 6 teams getting votes in one of the two polls: Villanova, Xavier, Creighton, Seton Hall, Providence and Butler.

This time next week, we could have 5 ranked teams, or 1 ranked team...
