Re: Providence University Game thread 12/28/2016
was close to floor tonight. X had tremendous intensity and effort on D. Best half court "man" D I have seen us play in quite some time. Granted Providence seemed just a bit off tonight, but X had a lot to do with that. Great foot work on filling the gaps and hedging tonight. Hope this was not a fluke but a trend...!

Best performance of the year.Other than a few too many turnovers,no complaints.Bench play has really started to improve.

I would have loved to have seen replays on the fouls called on JP last night. A couple of them looked like phantom calls to me.

Coach Mack's decision to allow the team a few extra days off paid dividends. The team looked fresh and the chemistry was evident.
Had the decision not worked out, there would have been plenty of criticism (and maybe warranted).
Coaches make a tremendous number of calls throughout a season. Merely an example of when something does work out, little is said. When one fails, the debate ensues. Not suggesting it should be any other way, just an observation.

Exactly. Sometimes the coaches know even more than we do.ChitownSteve wrote:Coach Mack's decision to allow the team a few extra days off paid dividends. The team looked fresh and the chemistry was evident.

I agree completely! Lots of energy, toughness, teamwork and solid shooting. Georgetown looked pathetic at Marquette. I would love to see us dominate them in D.C. Saturday.bluegrass wrote:Best performance of the year.Other than a few too many turnovers,no complaints.Bench play has really started to improve.
Mark Twain was wrong. Golf is NOT a good walk spoiled. It is a shared personal experience in a majestic wonderland guided by God, whose name is called frequently during the round.
