Zach has been cleared to play. SM's statements about his return have been very telling. Usually, when a player gets injured, the statements usually fall along the lines of "We'll see what the medical staff says and how much pain "X" player feels. All of SM's statements include The Family," as being involved in the decision. They are usually included when a player hits the transfer portal or goes into the Draft, but not for returning back from an injury.
When X was drafting him, the word from someone in the know said he has a helicopter dad, who is a trainwreck. There was also an insinuation that his dad thinks he is an NBA player. My source was one of our guests in the Moderator Suite on Sat. I think of Luke Garza of Iowa, who was the Nat'l POY two years ago and is a bigger, better version of Zach. He has spent most of his career in the G League.
Either way, I wish the best for Zach. Hell of a year. I hope he makes a nice living playing pro ball overseas. The fact that X has played very good ball (should have beaten the no.6 team in the country on their home court despite missing both Zach and Claude, and the last three losses were determined by the last possession) since his injury shows what a great job Miller has done. He is inching closer and closer to Bill Self, Tony Bennett (both the coach and singer), and Bruiser Flint.
As he did at AZ, SM has accelerated the return to glory for X by two years.

AH, the new term is lawn mower parent, which is even worse than helicopter parent. I have heard the same. Free is very talented and had a great year when healthy.

Sean has a history of looking out for himself ahead of the program, his coaches, and players. In addition to his struggles telling the truth.
Maybe some of that is in play here.

Re: Zack Freemantle update
did he escape from the operating room?
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Re: Zack Freemantle update
Freemantle has been great all season despite his early season issue that got him suspended (so not from day one). We know you hate Miller, but come up with some new material. I’ll take 23-8 vs the last four seasons anyway.
