He wants to play D1 ball in a great conference but for an average team. He has sketchy academic scores but maybe he can handle the Northwestern academics given he will be treated like a god.

Guys decommitting is not unheard of. Losing 75% of a recruiting class and two assistant coaches in 12 months however doesn't happen every day. But that is the fault of the 3 individual recruits and the departingcoaches for not understanding the clear, consistent, messages that are being conveyed to them.

Another guy just decommitted from NU, so that may have opened up a spot for this guy.

(Wait, I thought only X had guys decommit, and it's usually Mack's fault! You mean this happens to other schools, too????)

I certainly agree that it doesn't happen every day but that doesn't mean there is a problem. Interesting that with these hiccups the program still was able to have success in the post season.....most programs would be in dire straights. Hat off to the admins and head coach, as well as the players.

Every other Div. I school I've ever bothered to follow in any way has lost (1) head coaches, (2) asst. coaches, (3) current players, and/or (4) recruits, often in multiples. Yet, whenever it happens at X, it's because of some insidious decay eating away at the program. It's never just CBB business as usual in 2012.

Man, we do love to beat ourselves up, don't we?

He's now officially a Northwestern Wildcat. Whether he will be able to play is up to the NCAA.

Sucks for Butler to lose out on a recruit but they have a great coach so I imagine they will pull through just fine.
