I can agree that if X misses the tournament but plays significantly improved basketball that it would be a good sign that Steele is either coming into the position or he had trouble with the earlier personnel. That being said, if the schedule is as difficult as you say, then a 13-10 record is probably enough to get into the tournament. Strength of schedule is huge to the committee.
The big thing is the team needs to show huge growth in decision making and hopefully execution.

Let's hope that Steele turns out to be the offensive guru we were told a few years ago because our offensive has been horrible during his tenure. Would be nice to have some competition for Carter during the preseason because I don't feel he has earned a starting job based in his play last year.
