off topic women's golf

My niece is considering going to XU and wants to try and play golf. I don't see getting accepted being a problem 97% in SAT and likely valedictorian of her class. Her golf is pretty good shoots low 80's on course rated 72.0/129. I believe she has a single digit handicap 8 or 9. Any idea if the competition for golf is the same as for basketball? If so she probably needs to look elsewhere.
