Re: Worst Xavier free throw team in history
Carter even has started to fail at the line too many times.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Carter has the yips, and completely lacks confidence offensively. Even labs are an adventure. He did make the pass of the game with a drive to the hole and kick out to KyKy for a dagger 3. He also had a questionable offensive foul called against him late in the game as well. I've been a Carter apologist, and still think he has value, but don't believe he warrants the amount of time he's playing. Hopefully, the light comes on soon.

I like Carter but he seems to defer to the other players, maybe because he is the new guy or maybe his loss of confidence. I notice if he misses a three early he runs and hides. I hope before the end of the year he finds his way because his three-point shooting would really help. Just think what this team could be if Carter, KyKy, Freemantle could give us tose threesAnti-Homer wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2020 5:30 pm

Carter is actually showing signs of improvement. Agree he still could use a bit more confidence. Also, agree he has the yips on F/T's. He shot a much higher % in the MAC. Let us down at least twice this year in crucial FT's, but he was not alone. Next year, if he keeps at it and puts on a bit more muscle, he could excel. But once again, sadly - we are already contemplating 'next year'

Carter shot under 40% from the field, which is not good for a forward.

Re: Worst Xavier free throw team in history
Just finished watching the 2008 game against West Virginia and it was amazing what having a few players that can hit 3's and important shots make a difference (Brown, Raymond, Duncan, and Lavender). Also, it is amazing what happens when you have a true point guard, ball movement, and a coach that makes adjustments (not to mention getting the ball to the shooters).
