Butler and Xavier Status

Postby ChitownSteve » Sun Dec 16, 2012 7:18 pm

Butler and Xavier have been offered spots in the new "Big East" and will be accepting.

Look for a Press Conference around Wednesday. The delay is likely due to determining who will be the 3rd Team.

Dayton going into the new conference would be good for us as our two universities would tend to support each other (along with Marquette, DePaul, and Butler) in policy decisions in the new league. Otherwise it's an all eastern seaboard league with little consideration to the schools in the western wilderness.

X, Butler and Dayton should be tied together. If you can get Creighton, you throw in SLU to make it a 12 team league. The C7 and the five just mentioned would be a perfect league.

This was posted due to the insight of the live source who provided it directly to me, not from a Board I don't even read. Should you chose, you have every right to be skeptical.

Admittedly, a mea maxima culpa will be in order if the information is wrong.

All of us on MM are intently following this important matter. Be assured, if it were mere speculation it would be so designated.
