It really doesn't depend on viewpoint. Unless Georgetown brings in a Top 5 National Player and a Top 10 NBA Pick or Marquette brings in a potential first rounder that would be declaring for the 2014 draft, it is a net gain for X.Shadow wrote:Depends on your viewpoint. Re: Big East News
Rivals and Scout are showing that Porter only had offers from Georgetown and Missouri. ESPN is showing that only Georgetown offered him.
How is that possible? This guy may be a top 5 NBA draft pick this year. He must have been way under the radar.

Pretty wild. Kinda like how ZERO Pac-12 schools (or any BCS for that matter) made Brandon Randolph an offer. Hope it works out as well for Randolph and X as it did for Porter and Gtown.xu39 wrote:Rivals and Scout are showing that Porter only had offers from Georgetown and Missouri. Pretty sure I read a story several months ago that Porter was like Josh Duncan--father kept him close and he didn't do the aau circuit--didn't have a ton of high powered AAU people around him and I think he played for a really small school like Brad did. Then again, I didn't sleep at a holiday inn express last nite!

The Seton Hall AD is confirming that the NBE will go to 12 teams. The final 2 teams are TBD. It sounds like the timeline for the addition of the final 2 teams is also TBD.
"Two more teams will be added to the Big East, we are certain of that, but right now those two teams haven't been decided - but it will be a 12 team conference."

Otto went to Sikeston H.S in Sikeston, MO which is near the bootheel of MO. The enrollment there is about 1500. The H.S games down here in SE.MO are not at all like that back home in Cincy, it is not physical. He is a good player and his old team, this past season, went to the state Final Four.SC in DC wrote:Pretty sure I read a story several months ago that Porter was like Josh Duncan--father kept him close and he didn't do the aau circuit--didn't have a ton of high powered AAU people around him and I think he played for a really small school like Brad did. Re: Big East News
Fox Sports 1 is getting it together. They have apparently hired a "phenomenal producer" from the NFL Network to run the Big East coverage:
"One key production signing by Fox Sports 1 -- and this transaction has caused a little bad blood between Fox Sports and the NFL Network -- is Fox's hiring of former NFL Network producer Bardia Shah-Rais. One ESPN-er who worked with Shah-Rais called him "the best hire Fox Sports 1 has made so far." Shah-Rais is expected to play a major role in the production Fox Sports 1's Big East package. "He's phenomenal, and that's an understatement," said one NFL Network staffer. "It's a huge loss for us.""

Big East article from Omaha
This was about Creighton but the main topic seems to have been quite a bit about revenue at the Florida meeting.
No commissioner and no staff but they did talk about ticket prices for the basketball tournament and TV contracts.
