XU Women Fall to Kansas

Xavier led by eight points with 6:30 remaining in regulation but could not hang on as the Xavier University women’s basketball team dropped a 62-60 decision to Kansas on Friday evening at Cintas Center in Cincinnati. With the win, the Musketeers slip to 9-5 on the year while the Jayhawks improve to 11-2.
Sophomore forward Maureen Hester was outstanding, scoring a career-high 17 points on 6-of-9 shooting. She was the only Musketeer in double-figures though as three of her teammates scored eight points.
Xavier is back in action on Sunday, January 6 when the team takes on No. 7 Georgia. Game time is set for 2 p.m. at Cintas Center.
