X Breezes Past McNeese State

Freshman standout Ta’Shia Phillips scored a career-high 26 points and pulled down an XU single-game record 20 rebounds to lead the Xavier University women’s basketball team in a 97-60 thrashing of McNeese State on Saturday afternoon as part of the National City Xavier Invitational at Cintas Center.
Sophomore guard Jerri Taylor poured in a career-high 27 points and tied a school record by burying a mind-boggling nine 3-point field goals.
Xavier will return to action on Sunday against Liberty on Sunday. Game time is set for 2 p.m. at Cintas Center and will preceded by the McNeese State vs. Houston showdown set for 12 p.m.
