No. 5 XU Women Advance to A-10 Tourney Finals

Sophomore guard Tyeasha Moss scored 15 points and tied a career high with six rebounds and junior center Ta’Shia Phillips posted the 52nd double-double of her career to lead the No. 5 Xavier University women’s basketball team past Charlotte, 51-49, in Atlantic 10 Championship semifinal action on Sunday afternoon at the Show Place Arena in Upper Marlboro, Md. With the win, Xavier’s 17th straight, the Musketeers improve to 26-3 on the year while Charlotte slips to 17-13.
No. 1 seeded Xavier advances to the Championship Game for the sixth time in school history where it will square-off against either No. 2 Dayton or No. 3 Temple. XU is 4-1 all-time in the Championship Game and will be playing for its third A-10 Championship in the last four years.
