XU Women Fly Past UMass on Senior Day

Sophomore Tyeasha Moss and freshman Katie Rutan each scored 12 points to lead the No. 6 Xavier University women's basketball team past Massachusetts, 75-41, on Saturday afternoon at Cintas Center. With the win, XU's 13th straight, the Musketeers improve to 22-3 overall and a perfect 12-0 in Atlantic 10 play. The Minutewomen slip to 10-17 on the year, 4-8 in the loop.
A post game ceremony was held to honor XU's five senior members, Alesia Barringer, Dee Dee Jernigan Maureen Hester, Der-ryka Martin and April Phillips.
Xavier will return to action on Wednesday, February 24 when the team welcomes Charlotte to Cintas Center. Game time is set for 7 p.m. and the contest will mark the regular-season home finale for XU before it plays host to the first and second rounds of the 2010 Division I NCAA Women's Basketball Championship on March 21 and 23
