XU Women Win OT Thriller at Dayton

Amber Harris and Special Jennings combined to score 45 points and Ta’Shia Phillips hauled in 17 rebounds to become XU’s all-time rebounding leader as the No. 6 Xavier University women’s basketball team escaped from Dayton with an 80-79 overtime victory on Wednesday evening at UD Arena. With the win, Xavier’s 12th straight, XU improves to 21-3 on the season and 11-0 in Atlantic 10 play. Dayton slips to 20-6, 8-3.
The Musketeers return to action on Saturday, February 20 when the team welcomes UMass to Cintas Center. Game time is set for 1 p.m. and the contest will be XU’s annual Pinkzone game. All fans in attendance are encouraged to wear pink to promote breast cancer awareness. Xavier’s seniors will be honored in a post game ceremony.
