Muskies Take Down Maryland in NCAA Tournament

The No. 11 seed Xavier Musketeers took care of business in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, knocking off No. 6 seed Maryland on Thursday night in Orlando. After trailing by a point at half, 36-35, the Muskies took command in the second half thanks to a 14-2 run en route to the victory. XU junior captain Trevon Bluiett led all scorers with a game-high 21 points, 18 of which came after the break. Bluiett drilled 5-of-10 3-point field goals for the game. X was also led by Sean O'Mara who provided an impactful interior presence for the Musketeers. O'Mara finished with a career-high 18 points and a game-high seven rebounds. With the win, Xavier improves to 22-13 and advances to play in the Round of 32 against No. 3 seed Florida St. on Saturday in Orlando. Game time is set for 6:10 pm on Friday.
